P’haps I should have waited before compiling my best of the decade list…
So, today I saw a film that completely through my recent “top ten of the decade” list into disarray. This would/is my new number 2.

Yes, hearing so much about this now. In the latest issue of Sight & Sound they highlight the fact it would have featured in their ‘best of 09′ and 30 films of the decade, such is the praise.
I may have to wait until DVD for this one. Only just managed catch up with the Silence of Lorna and El rey de la montaña this week.
I don’t know mate, it really ought to be seen in a cinema. Apologies for bringing out the old stereotypes, but the idea of being “trapped” in a cinema for three hours, unable to pause the film or watch it over multiple nights really seems apt for this. Im a big fan of the French incarceration genre, with Bresson’s Pickpocket and Pialat’s Police being two of my favourite films.
